Some of them are interesting and vivid, but some of them are really old-fashioned, like looking through unearthed documents. This article will correct some of the more misleading and even wrong FACTS, hope you find it interesting and valuable.

This post will be continuously updated to include some ludicrous so-called truths. Welcome your attention.

1st Update Based on 10 WTF FACTS ABOUT CHINA YOU WON’T BELIEVE ARE TRUE)

FACEBOOK IS BANNED.

Not only Facebook but many foreign applications and websites are banned. Just like Huawei and DJI.

AND THERE IS A REHAB FACILITY FOR INTERNET ADDICTION.

This did the fact before, but now you don’t see the relevant institutions anymore. Kids with internet addiction can start a business or become professional gamers.

A ONE-CHILD POLICY EXISTS.

Very old information, the original author used information from 40 years ago. Now it has long been encouraged to have children, and some cities will also give cash incentives for families with two or three children.

This one is pretty much the same for the people of the countries that have hosted the Olympics should check it, not really unique to China.

PING PONG IS THE NUMBER ONE SPORT.

In fact, this is kind of a misconception about China. According to the National Sports Bureau, the top two percentages of participation are walking and running, 22.7% and 19.8% respectively, followed by badminton (8.9%), cycling (7.3%) and basketball (5.4%), among others. In fact, Chinese people love soccer and basketball, only that the men’s soccer team is badly corrupted and rotten.

THERE ARE MORE THAN 200 PROTESTS A DAY.

Hahaha, I wonder where the source of this 200 times statistic is? If China doesn’t allow undeclared protests, then how can there be a figure of 200? If China says it agrees to random arbitrary protests, why doesn’t any organization or individual give the figure of 200 per day?

THE COUNTERFEIT PROBLEM IS VERY VERY REAL: CREEPY DISNEYLAND, FAKE IKEA STORES AND MANY MANY MORE.

Keep on hahahaha, Disney is a top-notch global IP and IP awareness and action company. At least I’ve never been to a fake Disneyland or IKEA store. Also, I need to acknowledge that Disney is a great company that has created many well-known and interesting IPs, but now China has more and more domestic IPs to enrich children’s entertainment and spiritual world. To take a step back, for kids nowadays, the images and favorites of Baldy (a Chinese domestic modern cartoon), Porky Pig (from China), and Ultraman (from Japan) rank higher than Disney’s princesses and princes.

BY 2025, CHINA MAY HAVE TEN NEW YORK SIZED CITIES.

I understand that the original author wanted to express the GDP of the cities, a goal that is currently far from being reached. Shanghai, China’s top-ranked city in terms of GDP, is projected to have 70% of New York’s GDP in 2023. To reach 10 such cities, then the Chinese still have a lot of work to do.
If the original author was expressing population or area, that would only mean the original author is ignorant.

Fact about China- shanghai

45 BILLION CHOPSTICKS ARE USED EVERY DAY.

Where does this figure come from? China’s population is 4.2 billion pairs according to 1.4 billion, even if you need chopsticks for all three meals a day. Are the remaining 40 billion chopsticks used to feed pandas?

EVERYBODY IS REQUIRED TO WATCH THE SAME CHANNEL AT 7PM.

Nowadays, how many people watch TV at the right time? TV ratings are already low, replaced by the Internet and mobile networks for information and entertainment. But then again, it is still a good choice to watch the 7pm news broadcast sometimes nowadays, after all, there are countless kinds of spam on the internet.

2nd Update Based on 30 Cool Facts about China

1) The Chinese New Year celebration lasts for 15 days.

Yes, Lunar New Year is the most important traditional holiday for Chinese people, known as ” Guo Nian“ or Spring Festival in China. It is also the longest legal holiday, at a level similar to Christmas in the West. The overall meaning is to say goodbye to the old and welcome the new, to reunite families, to take stock of the past and to welcome the new year.
The 15 days written here is indeed the mainstream time period in the traditional sense, but modern China usually has only about 7 days of legal holidays, and in some regions the idea is that the Near year is not officially over until the 2nd of the next month.

2) In China, every year is represented by one of 12 animals.

The 12 Chinese zodiac signs are based on the evolution of the 12 Earthly Branches in the ancient Chinese culture of Zhou Yi (I ching). The twelve animals change in turn, and each person has a corresponding sign according to the year he or she was born, and each sign has certain character traits, for example, people born in the year of the dog are relatively more loyal and reliable. This is similar to the Western zodiac signs that are differentiated by month (horoscopes are also popular among young Chinese). Older Chinese, on the other hand, will predict the suitability of young people for marriage by the suitability of their Chinese zodiac signs, for example, people of the genus Rooster and Dog are not suitable, because the older Chinese people believe that “chickens and dogs are unsettled”.

3)

Family members living in one home is a reflection of Chinese success. Elders are highly revered in China. Younger generations are also expected to take care of their aging family members. They even have an Elderly Rights Law!

4) China is considered a “coconut culture”. Chinese people present a stony, formal exterior, but they are actually as warm and welcoming as other cultures. Close friendships and relationships in China are earned over time compared to Western countries.

As a Chinese, I’ve hardly heard of the term “coconet culture”. In my opinion, Chinese people as a whole are friendly and warm. It’s just that Chinese people are more introverted and shy under the influence of traditional culture. They are not as outspoken as their friends in North and South America and Africa.
